AEE Qatar Chapter
Association of Energy Engineers is a global society of 18,000 energy professionals, representing more than 100 countries through local chapters. It is a non-profit organization with a mission to further education in areas of energy and management. To this end, the association “specializes in training, membership development, chapter development, and certification for professionals practicing in the fields of energy management, renewable energy and green buildings.” AEE currently has 30,000 certified industry professionals.
Within Qatar, AEE courses are conducted on behalf of AEE Qatar Chapter. AEE training and certification programs provide a competitive edge to energy engineers, managers, consultants and technicians.

The courses on offer deal in areas related to energy engineering, energy management, energy efficiency and conservation, energy auditing, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, techno-economics and lifecycle costing of energy systems etc. Apart from courses, the association provides industry certifications in Building Commissioning, Business Energy, Carbon Reduction Management, Distributed Generation, Energy Auditing, Energy Procurement, GeoExchange Design, Green Building Engineer, Indoor Air Quality, Lighting Efficiency, Measurement & Verification, Power Quality, and Sustainable Development.
Global Carbon Council
Global Carbon Council (GCC) is MENA region’s first voluntary carbon market with international reach. It facilitates global stakeholders in implementing climate actions through a voluntary carbon offsetting program. The overall purpose of GCC is to contribute to achieve Paris Agreement objective of limiting global warming to 1.5°C by developing relevant standards and framework for voluntary carbon markets to catalyze, enhance and leverage climate change mitigation finance globally and especially for MENA region.
GCC credits will be used for offsetting host country emissions linked with Football World Cup Qatar 2022. In the Global South, GCC is the only CORSIA-accredited international program. GCC is also accredited by ICROA. Trainings conducted in collaboration with GCC are related to carbon markets and carbon neutrality.
Global Accreditation Bureau
Global Accreditation Bureau (GAB) is the first accreditation body established in Qatar by GORD as an independent legal entity to provide accreditation services to third party conformity assessment bodies (also known as Certification Bodies). It is also the first body in MENA which provides accreditation to ISO 14065:2013 to organizations providing validation and/or verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) assertions. GAB complies with international standard ISO/IEC 17011 “Conformity assessment – Requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies”. Trainings conducted in collaboration with GAB deal with accreditation processes within various sectors.
